I wanted to know how safe is Thailand for two girls travelling together. During the day I have heard it is Safe, but not to go out at night. Please share what experience you have had there.

I think Thailand is very safe.

Yes, it's pretty safe - use your common sense and you'll be fine. Generally no problem going out at night - we lived there for 6 years (in Bangkok) and my wife thought it was safer than Sydney Australia!

Enjoy your trip

Bangkok is pretty safe. My friends and I used to go out and walk in the streets till 2pm. Just take normal precautions :)

what about how you dress? are vest tops okay for women to wear away from the beach? i know shorts are a bit of a no no, but i are vest tops a bit inapropiate? would t-shirts be better?

well, it all depends on where you're going. Sleeveless tops (even spaghetti straps) and shorts are ok in malls, markets, streets, etc. Most temples, including the grand palace, require that you wear pants or knee-length skirts and that you cover your upper arms. A shawl is enough to do that. hope this helps. ;)
