Hey Corky Ken,

Learning russian would be a start, or at least understand cyrrilic. They are quite desperate for english teachers in the smaller communities outside of the big cities. Apparantly you can make a decent wage. I would recommend the Moscow nightlife, if you have some money to spare. Maybe starting a youth centre for teens who leave their families and goto the city to try and find work, etc to help support their families back home. Use your skills to help them get jobs and find education, teach them english, or other skills you may have. Otherwise, keeps your head up and watch out for the Taxi service. They can be a bit of a tangle if your caught in the wrong mood. esentially get familiar with the local customs and etiquette.

I have been to Russia 4 years ago.

I can recommend you to travel in the summer, because is the only time of the year that you will enjoy Russia.

Moscow has a great night life, but be careful when walking on the street at night can be quite dangerous, avoid small street and walk where most of the people walk.

To move at night I would recommend you to use taxi, are not expensive, but always deal the price before you get in, it will help to avoid bad surprise, or misunderstanding.

For more information about Russia, check it out this web site, it has tons of useful information regarding Russia and many other destination.

I had a really good time while I was there - I picked up as much Russian as I could once I was there. The hardest part was the Cryllic, but once you get it figured out its not so bad.

I would add that the night-life in St.Pete is a lot of fun as well and worth while.

I would disagree that summer is the only fun time to go - I went in Early April and had a great time. I think winter would be interesting as well :D
