Hi.

Olavsgård Hotel is close to Lillestrøm East, NorthEast of Oslo. There are plenty of Buses going to and from Oslo, but it does take time to take the bus. For the four days you have untill the course starts, I'd find a more central hotel.

There are somethings that are an absolute Must for visiting Oslo.
Vigelandsparken and Bygdøy (museum peninsula) are among them.

Other things you might want to see is
Aker Brygge (Expensive shopping)
Akershus slott
Slottet (Royal Residence might require booking)
Town Hall (Rådhuset)
Nationalmuseet
Munch Museet.
Holmenkollen.

Did you mean Bergen in your posting. That city is on the other side of the country. The train will take you there in 7 hours. Flying time is a bit over 1 hour, but then you'll have to take time to get to the airport, check in, claim luggage and get to the other city.

Accomodation: There are several hotels in bouth Oslo and Bergen. To give you a description of even most of them will consume too much of my time. I can, however give you some webpages:
For Oslo: http://www.hotelpronto.com/Availability/SearchResults.aspx?RegionId=904&AffiliateId=35
For Bergen: http://www.hotelpronto.com/Availability/SearchResults.aspx?ShowPleaseWait=True&AffiliateId=35&Prev=3&SearchDetails=A!0!2!-1&PageNumber=1&RegionId=905

If you take a look, I'll be happy to comment on your findings. I cannot claim to say that I know all hotels, but I do know some of them. Particulary in Bergen.

Jon

Anker hotel and especially Anker hostel in Oslo are pretty cheap. And good location too, close to Gronnerlokka which is where I live so of course the coolest part of town

Seriously though, it is the coolest area in town!

You can book them through the budget accommodation booking area here on TP I believe

Cheers,

Sam

[ Edit: Added Anker hostel ]
