Hi, I am planning a long overland trip in 2009 in a land rover (three years or so) and could do with any help or advice, places to see, things to do, any companies that might be useful. Anything you can think of would be great.
Cheers

Hi Simon,

Welcome to Travellerspoint! So, what general part of the world are you talking about? Europe, Asia, Australia, Americas, Africa? Any more details that can be of help to people trying to give advice?

Sam

Sorry should have said, Europe, over to africa down to the south over to india, up to china into south east asia, australia, new zealand, south amercia form argentina to mexico then into america and canda, iceland and then back to the uk. thats the rough outline. I have done a lot of travelling before, just never driven overland, and not for that long. My wife is a photo journalist and i have aspirations to write, so we hope to keep a income through the wonders of the net. Planning to sell the house to fund the trip, so if anyone has been here before it would be great to get some advice.

Theres some companies that take backpackers on overland trips, to get ideas for planning you itinery you could look through their websites. Try eoe.org.uk in particular, they take several different trips that you'd probably be interested in looking through, I think you might find it useful :) What an amazing kind of trip to be planning as a couple, I hope it all goes well for you!!
