Travel Forums Europe where to go?

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip all over Europe for 6 months. He would like to go to to Egypt and I am trying to talk him out of it because it is out of the way. Any suggestions and where and where not to go? Thanks

Why not visit Greece and Turkey, Cyprus for good measure and then you can easily do Egypt too?

Don't know if you are European or not, but if so, why not focus on eastern Europe in combination with Turkey, Egypt (like Mikey said) and other countries in between, like Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. Much more interesting and better done independently when you are younger.
Oh, all over Europe you say: in that case don't forget Georgia and Armenia, great countries to explore and still rather pure!

It depends what want from the Holiday.

Mountains - Scotland, good fishing too.
Food & Wine - France, Italy
Beer & Chocolate - Belgium, I really enjoyed Gent

Ireland is a good mix of all of the above (ok, no wine) , although Dublin was a bit crap compared to the west coast.

Belgium, Holland and Germany I have always found pretty bland unless i happen to be lucky and meet a nice group of people.

Eastern Europe might be an idea if you want a bit more adventure, but not an expert on that part of the world.

Portugal is small, varied and unspoilt.

The people are friendly; the food is of high quality and good value; the wine is excellent and cheap; the weather is fine in the south; the Algarve (most southern region) has fantastic beaches and mountains – perfect for exploring on foot, bicycle or car. http://algarveholidaystudio.blogspot.com/

Worth considering I think.

you have 6 months and so i really dont think egypt is that out of the way... with such cheap flights and package deals you can go to egypt easily without it being a big hassle...
