OK let me explain

I've been looking at the possibility of traveling and working in Aus such that I exit the country with the same amount of money I entered with like this:

Travel 6 weeks - 100AUD p/day spend
Work 18 weeks - 300AUD p/week save
Travel 6 weeks - 100AUD p/day spend
Work 18 weeks - 300AUD p/week save
Travel 6 weeks - 100AUD p/day spend
Work 18 weeks - 300AUD p/week save

Etc, etc... so is this possible? Would I be able to save 300AUD a week on top of my normal living costs, if I worked 2 jobs, didn't go out etc, I'm pretty good at saving btw.

Or should I save less and spend less when traveling? When I'm traveling I'll be mainly self catering and sleeping in dorms.

So, any thoughts?

I think this is fairly realistic, assuming you have a reasonably paid job and get full time hours/ 2 jobs as you mentioned. Your budget works out to be around what I spent when travelling in australia, but I have seen other posts on TP saying that the average budget is less. I did a few group tours and got a couple of fairly expensive internal flights which added to my budget but I cooked in hostels almost all the time and didn't go out drinking etc much.

When you are working you should be able to get cheap accommodation if you find a backpacker house share so this will enable you to save.
