Hello,

My friend and I are planning on hiking to the everest base camp and kala pattar in mid-february. I'm assuming it's still pretty cold at this time, but is it still possible without mountaineering experience? Is there anything else I should know before setting off on this hike during this time? Thanks for any help.

Josh

Hello Josh,
Greetings from Nepal.

It's nice to hear that you are heading to Nepal on Feb.08 for EBC/Kalapatthar trekking. Well, the weather at this time get more cold compare other months but still you will be able to do this trek. Regarading your question about well train for mountain, here I like to suggest you to do some walking before head to EBC because you are going yo trek up to 5,545m which can be more challange for you that's why I like to say life is more important than other but if you have done some mountain trek before then won't be that much trouble to do this trek as easy/moderate.

It would be even much better to let you know in details if you can write here your total time frame in Nepal because normally you can do this trek with in 12 to 13 days and should take a domestic air craft from Kathmandu to Lukla and then return to Kathmandu.

Have a great journey to Nepal
cheers
