My friends and I (4 people in total)are looking for a nice beach town somewhere in the east coast of the USA to spend between a week and two weeks, during summer break (sometime in August). We're looking for a place that's nice, not too pricy (max 1200 per week, for 3 bedrooms), with lots of things to do, and lots of "youngsters"(17-23 year olds). Any ideas of places to check out or websites to visit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about prices and such, but I might suggest Virginia Beach

I would suggest Daytona Beach, Clearwater Beach, or Cocoa Beach FL. All three are real good for the younger crowd. There is clubs, Water parks, Boardwalks and mega shopping. All three would also fit in your budget. I could help you if you want. give me an email.

In my opinion, Miami beach or South beach are the best beaches on the east coast (probably the 2nd best beaches in the USA after those hawaiian beaches)

Miami beach most definitely. It's a major party city as well which young people such as myself find very attractive (Minus the weeklong hangover lol)

Another option: Why not Rehoboth Beach, Delaware or Dewey Beach, Delaware? It is an easy 2.5 hours to Washington, DC for a quick excursion to a beautiful city though in August Washington, DC can be very hot and humid. No problem, just drive back to the beach at the end of the day of sightseeing and jump in the Atlantic.

Miami, miami, miami. If you are young, you owe it to yourself to go there. Everyone there is gorgeous, it's ridiculous. When or if I get back from my oz/nz trip I think I might move to miami.

California! Some of the best beach towns in the USA are here. Take your pick:

Summerland; Newport Beach; San Diego; Santa Barbara; Laguna Beach; Corona del Mar.

Daytona Beach is the best beach on the east coast of Florida. When I go there, I stay at the Daytona Bahama House, daytonabahamahouse.com. They have nice rooms with a balcony that overlooks the beach and ocean. It's a great way to relax or wind down after a full day of sightseeing or shopping. And the views off the balcony are breathetaking.

My family used to go to Ocean City, New Jersey. It's a dry town (no liquor) so it's very good for families. Ocean City has a great boardwalk with a full range of activities, gift shops, fudge and taffy shops, etc. It's a fun place - located 1/2 hour south of Atlantic City in Cape May County. http://www.oceancitychamber.com/
