Hi.

We just entred Laos and im in shock how much people there is here. Western tourists i mean. I know this is the peak of the season.
What im wondering is; is Malaysia and Indonesia just as bad, or has it not yet reached the same amount of "charter-tourist?

We're thinking about skipping Thailand, Laos and Cambodia for now and go further south instead.

More than before because some of them come over(Malaysia) to celebrate Christmas over here. But i think there are not as many as you seen in Laos.

When it is cold in Europe and North America it is "high season" in (much warmer) Southeast Asia!

Indonesia has lost a lot of the tourist business after the Muslim terrorist bombings, maybe they won't be so crowded as in years past!

It is high season in Malaysia but not as touristic as you have seen. Ofcourse when you go to the touristarea's like Taman Negara, Penang, Cameron Highlands and KL it is busy but there are stiill places where it is not so busy.
Langkawi for example. A beautiful island especially when you love nature and you want to laid back and relax!
