Hi TP regulars
Yes I know it's Christmas day but I'm addicted to this site, what can I say?!
I had a look in the forum archives for this thread and found it in 2004 so I thought I would start a fresh one, I can only apologise if it's been done recently and I missed it.
Just let everyone know what the one thing you couldn't live without was on your travels, I think people like myself who are off on there first trip RTW will find some of the tips of you more experienced travellers very helpful.
Thanks in advance Ruby
Some form of entertainment for those long flights/bus, train journeys. A book, I-pod, sudoku.....something to keep your brain active and your eyes from glazing over lol
I don't think my answer can be considered a tip or is applicable to you, but apart from the essentials (e.g. passport, money, cards, mobile phone, toiletries etc) I don't travel without my hairdryer and Vaseline cherry lip balm.
I like to have some books in English with me when I travel.
A sweet sticky substance which is widely eaten in India
Ziplock bags of assorted sizes. Great for bringing back the rocks and shells I collect on our travels. (Also good for keeping bottles of shampoo, etc from leaking all over your clothes.) I also keep spare luggage tags tucked in somewhere in case we need to check a bag unexpectedly. (Such as someone bringing you 6 bottles of real HP sauce as a surprise and all you have is carry-on luggage... It's happened. Mmmmm - HP sauce...)
Won't be allowed out otherwise
Embarassingly...my GHD hair straightners!
a good book, and a pair of earplugs.
