Hi there,

I will be taking a few months to go from Hong Kong to Bangkok. I am unsure of the best way to cross over into Vietnam from China. I have a lot of time, but money is more of a concern, so I would like to avoid flights. What are some options to get from Southern China into Northern Vietnam, Hanoi area? Where can I pick up a train/other transportation, is the border crossing easy, how much money, etc.

How about go to Vietnam from Nanning? It's near Vienam.Nanning has been the permanent venue for the China-ASEAN Expo, and a pivot city for the two-way exchanges between China and the ASEAN countries. It's convenient to go to Vietnam by coach or air from Nanning.I'm an English major student who live and study in Nanning.I helped many foreign friends who went to the other places from Nanning. If u need help, mail me.

Happy new year!
Ps:Friendship comes first to me!
