In Malaria risk areas is there still a risk when the temperatures drop?
I am hoping to go to Delhi next December. Daytime temperatures will be around 23 C and night time 8 C degrees.

Hey Mel- I sent you a pm- There would still be malaria mosquitos in Delhi in Dec and I would recommend prophylaxis.

From the CDC website : Malaria risk area in India: Risk in all areas throughout country except no risk in areas above 2,000 m (>6,561 ft) in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir, and Sikkim. Risk also exists in urban areas below 2000 m, including Delhi and Mumbai (Bombay).

I agree - it may be colder than the usual mosquito-borne disease epidemic period but the daytime temperature is still ok for them to breed and be active. Also the lower temperatures may be balanced out by increased rainfall during that period which sets the scene for mosquito breeding grounds. So the risk is still there.
