Myself & a friend are hoping to travel to salvador for carnival on the 31st of January, But have been unable to arrange any transport. Has anyone had any experience of trying to arrange bus transport in brasil from outside brasil? We have been unable to arrange anything and are begining to think we may not make Carnival! So any suggestions/tips would be very welcome.
Where are you coming from?
You should try to fly directly to Salvador. Even getting bus tickets inside Brazil around Carnaval ain't easy.
Gringo's right; if you haven't been able to arrange anything, that may be because everything is booked full. What you could do, is try to break up your journey in smaller legs, which are usually easier to book than long-distance transportation.
sorry meant to say from rio, thanks for the advice so far
There is plenty of extra bus service during carnival time , from Rio or even from Sao Paulo. It`s almost impossible to not have availability , I just booked my ticket today . If you fly a few days before carnival starts is cheaper and esier to find it.
I have rented an apartment in Salvador for carnival and I still looking for people to join us as a few of my friends won`t be able to go anymore, let me know if you are interested and also if you need any help to buy a ticket from Rio to Salvador , I have a friend over there that works in travel agency and she always book all my flights.
You can`t give up of going to Salvador !!!! Carnival there is great , you will love it !!!! gregukl hotmail.com
