gchef81 has indicated that this thread is about Sweden

I am trying to get up to Sweden in a couple of weeks and then possibly take a ferry to StPB. I was wondering if there was anyone who has taken the ferry and could give me any advice. I have just finished university in Australia and I am on the road for a couple of months. Any other advice is most welcomed; Thanks very much.

I've taken the ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki, and from there with bus to St. Petersburg. I traveled with a choir, but I know that Silja Line has a similar route (Ferry to Helsinki and Bus to St Petersburg)

I found the trip verry memoriable, but I wish that I could have stayed longer in Helsinki. Silja Line: http://www.siljaline.se/2004/ (Swedish only).

Agree that you should go via either Estonia or Finland (or both), as both are cool countries, and Turku/Helsinki and Tallinn are all great cities. It also makes it easier to cross into Russia using the train/bus from either capital
