Hi everyone,

Well today is the day, I have to tell my boss that I'm leaving to travel the world. I work as a nanny so this is really difficult as they think I'm going to stay till the kids are 21 (they're 1 now!).

Can anyone think of a good way to start this conversation?

Tricky, tricky tricky! ;)

Arghhh!
this is exactly my problem. I joined my company to grow and move forward. But sorry I'm outski in 6weeks and haven't broken the news yet. I think I'm procrastinating.
Actuallu took the job to save for the trip!

Don't tell him as such, just send them a postcard (and some presents for the kids)....

Just tell them - I was very afraid to tell my boss as (1) I had just signed a new 12 month contract, and (2) he has a reputation for making life difficult for anyone who he is not happy with, but after I told him he was very happy for me and threw his support behind my plans......... now I just have to tell him I got a job in Canada and am leaving in October instead of late november!!

i just got a job and dident tell them im heading off in over a month, they think im there for the long run when really im just there to tide me over before i leave. its really hard not being able to talk about my plans even with my co workers, iv nearly let it slip a few times. i feel especially guilty because its such a small business.
but then again im not getting paid a huge amount and i never actually said id still be there long.
screw em, im off!
