We are planning our first trip to Sydney for a friends wedding- with a 6 month old baby and our 3 year old son. We would like advice from anyone who has done something similar, in particular we are interested in the best airlines to use, how to cope with jet lagged brain and children and finally feedback on if you we are crazy to even attempt this trip in the first place!
Where are you flying in from?
We travelled with two kids, but they were not as young as yours (8+11).
We had been in Asia for six weeks and flew into Sydney from Singapore, but were still very jet-lagged, perhaps because it was an overnight flight and we didn't get much sleep.
I would just suggest the usual stuff like keeping hydrated and trying to sleep on the plane. Adjust to the local time as quickly as possible - your kids will struggle, but it's worth it in the end.
Take time to stop on the way i.e. for a few days.
Jet lag is usually worst when you fly east, from Europe to Australia. If you're coming the other way it might not be so bad!
