will travel to Apulia at the beginning of May and would like to see the Trulli villages near Alberobello, Bari. Does anybody has some experiences travelling this part of Italy? We will rent a car and therefore can move independently. Does anybody know any nice accomodation near Alberobello? Something small and authentic?
Thanks for sharing any information and experience for "Trulli".
For the interested folk - found a short movie about the "Trulli" (only in german)
If you're really into budgeting, you're better off staying in Bari (Brindisi as well but it's a very unattractive city). I found that there were many trulli used as B&Bs and hotels (although kinda pricey) but there are other places nearby. I was searching for a place to stay this past summer and found Mari e Monti Bed & Breakfast. It's 5 miles away from Alberobello and in between Bari and Brindisi, Monopoli is the closest city to it. It's only about 30 Euro per night but from the looks of it, it is an amazing deal. The only thing keeping me away from going here was the lack of a nearby train station (I was backpacking and riding trains) but you'll be driving so that won't be a problem. Good luck!
thanks for your information. Think will check out more bed & breakfast out of the bigger cities as we have the access with a car to more "rural places".
