Hi i will be travelling to the west coast of canada in september from england, but id like to see toronto while im in the country. Anybody know of an airline that will do a free stopover? The best i can come up with is a multi stop with Air Canada but the price is a little expensive for me. Also has anybody flown with air transat,as these are the cheapest flights from England and due to budget i may have to fly with them. thanks for any advice
I flew with Air Transat about 10 years ago and they were fine back then. I have a friend that flies with them to Toronto from Munich regularly. They have baggage restrictions that you have to look into. Not sure you can bring 2 pieces of checked luggage. My friend had to pay a lot for her 2nd piece of luggage, she might as well have flown with another airline.
Flights across Canada are expensive. It'll cost as about the same to fly from Toronto to Vancouver as it would Toronto to London. I have a sister out West that I never visit because it costs so much to fly there.
You may want to look into flying with one airline to Toronto. Then booking with a cheaper airline Toronto-Vancouver. And then fly out of Vancouver. So you'd need an open-jaw ticket into Canada. Westjet is a cheap airline for flights within Canada. Usually quite a bit cheaper than Air Canada.
Hope this helps!
Air Transat are quite good for a charter airline. Also try Zoom (www.flyzoom.com) ... the fly to Canada from gatwick, Glasgow, and Cardiff. Once in Canada often the cheapest airline is WestJet. You may have to be flexible with your times to get the best rate.
Canada is notorious for having the worst rates for internal flights....im from toronto, and its cheaper to fly from toronto to london (england) compared to flying from toronto to vancouver bc!
