We are going on a 'boys' weekend to Hamburg in feb, which area would be the best place to stay to satisfy the usual boy weekend ingredients (aka girls and drinking), we haven't any place to stay, so looking for a hostel also, if you have any recommendations. What is the best way and how long does it take to get from the airport to town.

Thanks very much,

Girls and drinking : Go to the Red Light district at Reeperbahn / St. Pauli. The Dollhouse is a famous table dance bar.

Hostel: Hamburg has surprisingly few options for such a big city, there is an AO hostel and another 2 small hostel/hotels called "Schanzenstern". The Schanzenstern-St. Pauli at Bartelsstr. 12 is close to the Red Light district, it would make for easy walking back when you are drunk.

If you fly into HAM (not the Ryanair airport), catch the airport bus 110 to the U-Bahn/S-Bahn stop Ohlsdorf and go from there to the city centre, using either U1, S11 or S1. Fare for bus and S/U-Bahn from the Airport to Jungfernstieg is 2,60 EUR. Travel time should be around 40 min.

I agree with t_maia there's isn't many hostels in Hamburg. One other I know, because it is in a very central location is Instant Sleep, maybe you want to have a look at their website.
Concerning a boys programm, you'll find tons of bars around Reeperbahn, also check streets nearby such as Gro├če Freiheit, Hamburger Berg and Hans-Albers-Platz.
Additionaly, Sternschanze is a nice area for going-out and it is very close to the hostel mentioned above.
For public transport from and to the airport check here for more detailed information.
