We are going to Thailand in june for 3.5 weeks and was wondering what the weather is going to be like? We start in Bangkok then head down to Ko Phangan, Ko Tao and Ko Samui, we are then hoping to head over to the west side to visit Phuket and Phi Phi. Is it going to be worth it? I've heard that the sea's are quite rough and tides are high over in Phuket and Phi Phi at that time of year. Can anyone advise? Thanks

I've traveled in Thailand a couple times in June and the weather has always been fine. Sure, it rains a bit and I did spend a week in Koh Tao once waiting for the seas to calm enough to go diving, but its still worth it. I don't know what coast is best that time of year. I've been to both sides during June on different trips and I can't really remember much of a difference.
But either way, its still fine to travel in Thailand in June and to be honest, I've enjoyed all my trips to Thailand during the hot and rainy season more than my last month's trip during Christmas. The advantaged of having a whole lot less other tourists in June greatly outweigh the advantage of slightly better weather at other times of the year.

Hi, I have visited Thailand in June the last 2 years and yes it is the rainy season but being the low season accom is a lot cheaper. I have experienced fairly good weather overall (BKK, Chaing Mai, Koh Samui, Phuket, Pattaya, Koh Phi Phi) except for Krabi as the rain there has placed a real damper on outdoor activities. Luck of the draw I'm afraid.

Hello Sarah:)

I was in Phuket last June.
It is certainly worth it. Plenty of warm sunny hours and maybe because of the time of the year there were fewer tourists but still enough to meet people. It did however rain from 0 to 3 hours per day.
The sea did not look rough to me but considering the number of foreigners who drown during the rainy season there yearly I would be extrememly careful about swimming.
