Hello Sradwxi:)

I would phone the consulate to ask that. Maybe they have a place where u can drop in your application and then pick up the visa. U could also try asking if they have an express service. Consulates for some countries have this. Is costs more but at least they can give u a visa faster.

Also where are u travelling to before India? U could also get your visa at an Indian consulate in another country. Last I heard travel agencies in Bangkok can get u an Indian visa in just a week.

i could never get through, but to be honest i wouldnt bother going to london. Theres a high commission in birmingham. i got the first train out of lime street, got to the HC at about 8.30 stood outside for about 20 minutes, got my ticket to hand in my visa, went back at 3.30 and was all done and dusted by 4.30. Booked a national express coach back to liverpool for £1!!!!!!!!
The queues were big but it was much better organised than it used to be and there doesnt seem to be a mad rush at the moment.

i didnt know there was a hci in birmingham, u got the address there, i can get there in just over an hour so it seems like the thing to do, i was half planning a stay over in london
doh!

all sorted, i havent the address at hand, but i would recommend the train just to save the hassle of parking and what not. I think you can get the visa forms from the london website and then search HCI birmingham and it should come up, its augusta st, jewellery quarter if i remember correctly

yeah ive already downloaded the form, i have it here, ill print it off and fill it in, i need to work fast now because my expected start date is approaching fast
and ive got no visa, no flight, no luggage, no hostel booked
basically ive not started, but i do have to be back home at the beginning of march because theres a local charity bike meeting round here, u probably know it hobo, the wirral egg run, i have to go to that on the 16th or march
so that gives me a month, give or take a few days
in fact im gonna fill my visa app in now so its done and ready
ill find the birmingham address easy now thanx
