Enjoy the party. I will be thinking about you while I weep tears of loneliness into my pint over here in London.

Sadly, the Chicago meet-up is now over and slowly becoming just a memory...
But, I think I can honestly say that those in attendance definitely enjoyed themselves. We were a group of six - four TPer's (Purdy, Wonkerer, Beerman and me) and two friends of Purdy's (Iain and Janine). One of our best friends joined us for dinner on Friday night to celebrate the two birthdays. Pics will be posted soon. And yes, the birthday kids had to wear their crowns though Purdy conveniently forogt hers in their room after Friday.

The weather was a mix of hot (30-32C) and sunny accompanied by the occassional thunderstorm and torrents of rain. A tornado did hit the suburbs about 20 miles south of downtown on Saturday evening, causing an enormous amount of damage. The rains cleared off enough for us to see Buckwheat Zydeco (Saturday) and B.B. King (Sunday) at Blues Fest. Friday was spent shopping along Michigan Avenue and stopping for cocktails when the rains would show up. We also had the birthday dinner that evening (a day early but big deal). Saturday was spent at Navy Pier, taking a ride on the big ferris wheel and a water taxi ride back to Michigan Avenue. It poured, soaking everyone, while on the water taxi ride. Sunday brought a ride around the Loop on the EL (elevated train), a stop at the Sears Tower observation deck (103rd floor) and lunch in Greektown. We split up a bit during the afternoon so some could finish their shopping, Wonkerer could maybe find the art fair in Hyde Park (she didn't quite get there) and we accepted the offer of drinks at Beerman's sister's apartment (dragging Purdy with us). We joined up again for cocktails at the hotel and then off to see B.B. King. We said our farewells to Wonkerer, Iain and Janine on Monday. Purdy is now being held captive in our guestroom as we don't want the corn monsters to get her.

Anyway, thank you one and all for sharing the weekend with us and hope you it enjoyed it as much as we did!!! Oh, and none of us can be held responsible for what may be written on any of the post cards. It's not our fault. Our cocktail server (Tamara) kept bringing us drinks each night and forcing us to drink them in massive quanitity. She also signed the post cards. She was a wonderful sport about the whole thing!! (Thank you, Tamara!!)

Very, very cool!!!!! Any chance you guys want to come up for the Jazz fest in a few weeks...?????

Glad to hear you all had a fabulous time! TP meetups are so much fun. And they always seem to cululate in massive amounts of drinking....

Culmulate in massive amounts of drinking??? I would say that constant drinking is more of a staple to the TP meetup, which just culmulates in crazy druken postcard writing Hee hee.

Bad Isa!!! Where are her manners???

A VERY LARGE THANK YOU TO THE OVERLORDS IS IN ORDER!!!!!
Thank you Sam and Peter for your lovely donation to the beer fund!!!! It kept us in alcohol from Thursday evening until Friday afternoon!! (Had to do something while waiting for the rain to stop...) Many a toast were made in your names and to TP!!!!!!! We all appreciate your generosity very much and the mojitos were stellar. We should really consider doing this more often... ;)
