Hi, me and my girlfriend are looking to go on holiday for two weeks during the summer time 08. We are looking for a nice hotel, beach resort, good weather and culture. We dont wish to go to a tourist hell hole. Somewhere with good food and located in europe. We was thinking Spain, Portugal, Greece or Italy. Would anyone have any sugestions?

I'd personally choose Greece, or take a look at Croatia, I don't think Croatia is as crowded as the other choices you've mentioned, however...during summer everywhere will be packed, i reckon

Praia da Rocha in the Algarve is very relaxed but also has a great holiday atmosphere. The beach is pretty awesome with lots of sand and cute rocky formations. Portuguese food is yum and the wine excellent. Linked to the beach is the town of Portimão with great shopping, a pretty riverside and cultural events. The fishing town of Ferragudo is nearby and is a little gem with more beaches, places to walk and great restaurants.

I stayed at Jardins da Rocha which has 2 swimming pools and a tennis court.
In the building there is also a pizzeria and a cafe.

Go in early July if you can. If possible avoid school hols!

I went to Formentera last september and it was amazing. You have to fly to Ibiza and then take a boat there. We rented a scooter, a small house close to the beach and that was it. I don't recommend going there in august. When are you planning to go?

Also maybe 2 weeks is too much. You could split between Formentera and somewhere else in Spain.

Have a nice trip.
