282,000 Links and more links for 800,000 unfortunate people!

I wonder how they could survive in this winter?

Hmmm, survive the winter.....good question. How about they STOP FIRING ROCKETS INTO ISRAEL!!!!!! Gee, maybe then the Israelis will stop bombing them, and the "innocent people" will stop being killed.

One of the articles (National Public Radio) mentions that Gaza's 1.4 million residents are almost entirely dependent on Israel for electricity and basic supplies. So, if you're dependent on your neighbor for help, why not work together with them instead of trying to kill them?

Apparently, Hamas is more concerned about Allah than it's own people. Shame really. It does give Islam a really bad look when the leaders are more willing to kill than to help. Makes Hamas look pretty selfish, actually.

I know the situation is far more complicated than that. The region has been in conflict for thousands of years. But perhaps if dialogue was the weapon of choice, innocent people would not caught in the middle of the crap. The leaders of both sides are to blame for suffering of the people.

Oh, and while your'e on your soapbox Kombizz, perhaps you could tell us all how your beloved Iran is helping the downtrodden people of the region? Are they making any effort to bring about peace? No, they are calling for the destruction of Israel. How nice for them. My feelings go out to the many people in Iran who do not support the insanity of their government.

Thank you Beerman for the correcting my mistake.
So the population is not 800,000. It is 1.4 million unfortunate people.
Then it would be nice to edit my mistake and say:

"5'470'000 Links for 1.4 million unfortunate people!"

How about answering my question?

War in the name of religion. Isn't it lovely?

Kombizz - I have deleted your second thread about the same subject because you have added nothing to it but links to search engine pages. Any changes you want to make can be made in this thread. Basically, you have posted a duplicate which is against the forum rules.

If you have something to say on the subject - say it. Posting links to other links really doesn't do a lot of good as people will not take the time to look through them.

It is way more complicated than that.

But the founding of the state of Israel, without asking the people who lived there, after WWII has lead to the mess we're in today. There are things to say for both sides of the story, but not for the use of violence from both sides.

Ah, now I get what you're trying to say. Here, it's illegal to cut off anyone's heating in the winter -- even if people aren't paying their bills. How can people treat other people as less than human? How does an ideology justify hurting innocent people? I suppose if we had the answers, we'd have the solution, as well...
