Are you kidding me/us here? It's near bankrupt and TAM has taken over most flights, both internationally as domestic. If that's the gold standard, LAN or TAM must be platinum with diamant edges

Utrecht is right,it is LAN and TAM who are THE airlines in Southamerica.

Both,LAN and TAM offer airpasses for southamerica or Brazil.
you are able to buy 1-4 steps or more.
LAN has right now offers for flights from London to Santiago for 616( pounds)
London-Lima 625.
It is also most flights in Argentina with LAN so it makes sence to apply for the lan pass to collect miles from Lan,if you need miles for a flight you can buy miles.
