Very nice site. But the forum search results really need to include a date for the latest post in a listed thread. That way, searchers can more easily filter out currently nonrelevant threads: people asking time-dated questions (Going to India this June...."), or older posts for which questions have obviously already been answered.
Other info like total number of posts in a listed thread would be helpful as well.
Should be an easy tweak to the interface?
Fair point zeke.. I think this data might already be in the index, so it should hopefully just be a matter of displaying it. I'll have a poke around
Well, that was easy. The last active date was already there - so it was just a matter of showing it.
Showing how many entries there are in the thread would require some extra database interaction though, so that would end up slowing down the search slightly. Not sure if that is really worth doing.
Also thought I'd point out that you can narrow down your search to only include threads that have been active in a certain period. Just click on the Advanced search options for some of the ways of narrowing down your search
Quick! That's great, much better information now in the listing. Showing # of posts in a thread is no biggie, just included it as an "as long as I'm asking..." note. I check out the advanced search options too. Thanks again.
