Direct flights between Borneo and Cambodia/Vietnam

Travel Forums Asia Direct flights between Borneo and Cambodia/Vietnam

Hi,

1. Does anybody know of any direct flights between Kota Kinabalu/Sandakan/Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei) and Phnom Penh or Saigon.
Any combination could be of some use, as long as I don't have to fly back to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur.

2. Also, any experience with the rainy season in Malaysian Borneo and Brunei? I've read it's just a bit more rain than usual during the October to January period? It's basically for the month of November I am asking this.

Thanks!
Michael

There's no direct flight from the Kota Kinabalu International (BKI) or Kuching International (KCH) airports to Cambodia and Vietnam. AirAsia used to service the Bangkok-Kota Kinabalu route, but that has been terminated in July 2007. Check all the routes serviced by the BKI and KCH airports.

Hi, there is a non-stop flight from Kota Kinabalu to Phnom Penh from Malaysia airline.

November month is normally quite dry but nowadays pretty hard to tell, innit.

Cheers.

Thanks!

I just found out that Brunei Airlines has a direct flight from Bandar Seri Begawan to Ho Chi Minh City.

Return ticket is 186 BND (brunei dollar probably), one way is 347 BND
Doesn't sound very logically to me.

Uhm, sorry to bother you but
1. There is no direct flight, just checked it, only via Kuala Lumpur and
2. It seems that Kota Kinabalu has about 350 mm in November, 2 out of 3 days with rain.

Thanks though

No problem, flying from Sabah directly to those countries seems impossible...really really strange as there is really a market for it.
Seems that Brunei will be a better options, with direct flights to Saigon...I asked Brunei Airlines if it would be better to buy a return ticket because it was cheaper. This was their reaction:

Yes, we will advise you to grab the good opportunity while you can as the online offers are based on first comes first serves basis and it is limited.

So now I know why so many people don't show up for a flight...it's there return flight which they don't need, but hey, it was cheaper to buy that one as well... Really, I don't get it

well, just my thought cos i don't know how's your planning is. why don't you do it the other way round, flying from KL to Phnom Penh then to Sabah? I personally dislike using Brunei airline. Well, sometimes they don't make thing easy for people, innit?

Hope you got what you wants, good luck.

Cheers.

But there aren't any direct flights the other way around are there?
Anyway, I am probably going alone first to Sabah and my girlfriend flies to Cambodia (which she wants to visit) later. Well, that's the idea for know.
