hi everyone. i will be travelling to oz for the first time in march i cannot wait tho i feel i need to ask a few questions before i go jus to be on the safe side. I will be flying into sydney first and was thinking bout travelling north to brisbane, i firstly wud like to know what is the best way of travelling there bearing in mid costs etc. Also can anyone recommed any places i should visit after i only have three months in oz so i understand i will not see everything so is there anywhere i should definitely go during my stay?
Options are bus/train/flight, where flight is the most expensive but gets you there quicker etc. and I'm pretty sure busses are cheaper. Cairns/Darwin/Perth are quite far from eachother so if you wanna go to these places (assuming you leave from Melb/Syd/Bris) it may be better to fly. Also there's not much scenery apart form grass/desert if you cross the middle of Australia. As for specific tours/prices I'll leave it to a non-local to answer All of the cities on the east coast are pretty well linked for travel though
I'd suggest Sydney/Brisbane/Gold Coast/Melbourne/Cairns and then if you have spare time you might wanna check out Perth, Adelaide, Ayers rock (Uluru) or Darwin. Depends what you like though, with the last two I mentioned they are especially good to see the Indigenous Australian culture, as well as life in the desert/very hot places!
To give some info for the less obvious places: Perth shouldn't be underestimated for beaches and also has some city life, while Cairns is a more tropical area and alongside the Great Barrier Reef. Adelaide I haven't been to but it's near Kangaroo Island (wildlife) and the city still has over 1mil population.
