tammielamb has indicated that this thread is about Australia

Would anyone like to suggest, please, either b&bs or cheap hotels as opposed to Youth Hostels, suitable for two elderly ladies in October this year? Also, places we ought to visit in Melbourne?

Thanks very much for any info.

Hi tammielamb,

One resourceful website for both High end and low end accommodation is You should find some great B&B options there.

Since you'll be there in October, you'll have to check out the following events.

24 September to 12 October 2008- Melbourne Fringe Festival
17 to 19 October 2008 - Melbourne Paperific Expo

There's a great list of activities in Melbourne during October at the following website

Thanks very much Rod. Only just seen your entry because all along I've been advised No Messages, so what's the matter with Travellerspoint?! I only spotted your helpful reply when I was glancing down all the threads............. tammielamb

"No messages" means you don't have any private messages (which are messages directed specifically to you, and not readable by anyone else; something like email, if only for members of this one site).

This here is a public forum thread, which is a completely different system. That "no messages" message up there isn't related to the forum at all. If you want to keep track of a forum thread, you can "subscribe" to the thread instead (using the "Subscribe to this Thread" link at the bottom of the thread, or the checkbox when you write a reply), which will send you an email if there's a new reply.

Thanks for the feedback Sander, I also thought it was linked to the Messages as well.
