I was trying to do a search on concerts that may be on in Switzerland/Germany in late Aug/early Sept. Thought I could fit one in into my schedule while I'm there. Have been unsuccessful so far...seems like concerts run till June then there'll be none till October? Or is it that schedules aren't out yet?
Any advice on this, anyone?
It depends what you are looking for. Popmusic or Classical music?
The clubs programm their concerts from late september till may, and then the festival season kicks in, and there should be enough festivals for you to attend. If you are looking for Classical music, then it can be a bit harder to find something in the summer, as it would need much more effort to set up a classical concert in the open air.
well there is the German Tickermaster site (its in english too), couldn't find any info on Switerland though, perhaps if you go to thier Tourist site, like visit switzerland they might have listing there...
Thanks for the replies guys
I'm looking at pop/rock rather than classical. Checked the Switzerland tourism website, they have events listed till mid-Feb only, guess I'll have to check back later in the year.
Am a little hooked on Robbie William's Royal Albert Hall concert at the moment.....
Cheers and thanks again!!
a little further away, but worth travelling for is the famour "Szigetfestival" in Budapest. It's held on an island in the middle of the Danube river. August 12 to 18.
if you wanted to go to a festival in Switzerland i would reccomend the st. gallen open air, i've been twice and it is fantastic. Unfortunately it is on in july festival season is over the summer in switzerland because the rest of the year is so cold, by the time october comes a long you wont want to be outside for too long unless u r hiking.
Thanks very much everyone!
Herr Bert, very useful link there! I've saved it to my favourites
I've heard about the Budapest fest but don't think I can make it this year, maybe next as I head over to Eastern Europe and Turkey in late summer..
