I'm trying to find a cheap (ish) airline to get from Hong Kong to Vietnam and all my searching hasn't been very useful. I'm being quoted in excess of £360 per person for return flights, which seems very expensive to me.
Is this the norm? Any advice? Unfortunately we have limited time in Vietnam so getting trains wouldn't really be an option.
Any help would be great!

I looked into this last year, but I flew to Bangkok instead. I was getting quoted the same as you are from Hong Kong to Hanoi so I dind'nt take that route, far too much money! I was then looking at the train option but seemed quite tricky. So I went from Bangkok to HCHM £50 one way, in advance of about a week while I waited for my visa.
I looked for another guy a month ago and could not find a cheap flight: HKG-HAN. Your best bet will be to fly Thai Orient to BKK, and then Air Asia: BKK-HAN.
Thanks so much for your help guys!
We will definitely be going the Bangkok - Hanoi route as it seems the only reasonable price!
