I am going in May to Athens, Istanbul and some of the surrounding island like Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, How much of a weather change is it? Will it be above 70 F (21 C) degrees enough for bathing suits and shorts? The dates I am planning are either the 1st (3rd of May) or 2nd week (9th of May). This decides when I am going.
Thank you for your help
Hello there the weather on may is good not cold and some people also go for swimming at the sea that means will be more than 21c
and i will suggest you to go to the 2nd week of may because will be more hot
if you want any other suggestion you can send me also e mail may i ask you how many days do you plan to spend in greece?
also you can see this web site about crete island maybe you will like to visit also
have a great day
I worked in Rhodes for 8 months last year and the temp was around 30 degrees (c) towards the end of may, the island is a fantastic place to visit even for a few days (you can drive round the whole island in 4-5 hours) the people are fantastic and there are ferries most days to Bodrum and every day to Marmaris for around 30-40 Euro's
Any questions feel free to contact me!!
Average max for Istanbul will be around 22-26, Athens slightly warmer with possible around 30 if you are lucky.
Rhodes and other islands are pretty warm as well, with temperatures during the day also between 20-25 degrees.
It is not exactly very nice weather to go swimming as the water still is relatively cold/cool.
