Which skills do u wish u could develop more which would enhance your travel experience?

I would like to be more talented with learning languages. I would love to be one of those who can learn 10. As it is I am struggling with Spanish and German my 2 second languages.

I also wish I was not horrified by spiders, other crawlers and wrigglers so I could sleep in the wildest places.

I guess I'd enjoy travelling even more if I would be less annoyed by 18-year-olds turning 'my' hostel into a social club... it makes me grumpy, while having a good time together with them would be a much better use of my time :)

Ditto on the languages. In Switzerland I bumbled through some terribly rudimentary German and had Neal teasing the life out of me for telling a woman "Don't speak German to me" when I meant "Sorry, I don't speak German". I always wish I could get by in the language of the place I'm visiting.

Punctuality.

It's pretty bad lol. Most people I meet are able to get up @ 6 AM to make an early morning train or avoid lines at the nearest museum. I tend to sleep till the very last minute of a hostel's lockout time (10 or 11) therefore I often end up waiting hours in lines and arriving at my destinations in the middle or late day just because I was too lazy to take an earlier train. I tend to lose track of time often too lol. Some people may miss their bus, but whenever it is the LAST bus you should always be there on time. Nope, not me. I've hiked back to my hostel quite a few times becuase of situations like this. Eh, oh well.

I really have to learn not to be irritated by travellers of some countries. Although groups of chinese, japanese and american can be bothering, actually I think they are pretty ok and funny. I remember a group of chinese who were all that excited when they saw a chinese restaurant in Tbilisi LOL.

No, I am really talking about certain types of backpackers, does not matter of which country who are talking about money money money all the time. How cheap this, how expensive this. Pfff, I avoid them as much as possible. Really, I hate it!

And well, although some might find this offensive, people from Russia, Italy and Israel should not travel at all! Rude to the bone!

Well....but in the near future I hope I will be more friendly towards certain types and don't get irritated anymore...basically, it does not help me or anyone else does it

i wish i could be one of those people who can talk to anybody. you know the kind.
i met a guy when traveling and he could be gone to the bar for 5 mins and come back with a bunch of new best friends.
and he was such a jammy fecker, he always landed on his feet. he was in New Zealand and needed furniture for his apartment, went to the pub and "happened" to meet some guys who were redecorating a hotel and were getting rid of a bunch of furniture and he was sorted. the next time ended up drinking with the All Blacks. and thats just a few of his jammy run ins.

Bargain. It melts my heart when someone says that looks pretty on you. Then I get all smiley-girly and buy it even it costs like a gazillion times more than it should.

I also wish to not get irritated with annoying-noisy eighteen year olds always looking to get laid or smashed or whatever it is they are out there to do. Dude, seriously. And I also get quite irriated when people don't smile. What's with that?! How hard is it to twitch a muscle. And families, noisy families are annoying. Wish I could tolerate such things would make not just travelling but life a lot easier.

I also wish I could tolerate dirty toilets. eeewwwww.

Haaanywhoo.
