My brother (20), his girlfriend, and myself (23) are leaving for a TEN MONTH trip through Africa on the 20th of February 2008! We will be travelling in two Landrover Defenders, thus, as things stand I have a spare seat in my vehicle. We plan to start off with a bit of a holiday in Mozambique, then move on to Lake Malawi, where we will be working for a while. We have no definite plans and will be taking each day as it comes. If this amazing, care free way of exploring Africa appeals to you, then please drop me a line.
PS - I am also in the process of trying to get loads of donation of pens, pencils and soccer balls to hand out to schools in rural communities along the way.
It is going to be phenomenal.
Oh, forgot to mention. That if you would like to 'hop on - hop off' along the way, then that is cool too....
.........Would have loved to do pretty much the same thing, but problem is I'm on the other way around ...Egypt, wanting to head to SA ! and have Landcruiser .....hmmm can you give me a hint about your route ? well due to political problems I know that Kenya/Ethiopia borders are closed, and southern Sudan with Uganda as well ....
pity Things are not as smooth as it used to be, let me know please what your plans are .
Sounds amazing would love to go but just moved to NZ to see this side of the world.. gutted...
Have a great time.. make sure you take so many photos its silly!
I am a 22 year old American, currently teaching in Europe. I am finished in Early July.. approximately where do you plan to be in July? I'd be up for trekking with you all summer, and finishing in Egypt.
