Hey, I've been researching a trip to Thailand in July (later into monsoon season than you!) and have found that If I stick to the east side (the gulf side) my trip will be less impacted by rain. There are some Northern places I want to see like Chiang Mai that will possibly bear more bad weather but I've read that the rains are often in the evenings, and if they do occur during the day they last a few hours and then dry up fairly quickly. From what I can gather it would only be a problem if you were to go somewhere remote in Southern Thailand where the roads might get washed away and you'll get stuck for a wee while! I could be wrong but it's what I've gathered from guide books and comments on here! I almost let the monsoon stop me travelling but for me the only time I can go is during June-September, it depends how you feel and if you know you really can't bear to stay any longer I'd get away from it all and travel despite the monsoons, after all if the locals cope why can't we? Not to mention the fact the flora and fauna are meant to be much more lush this time of year x
