I need some help, I'm getting married next year in December. I'm planning the honeymoon and i'm finding it very tricky to decide where to go. We live in Houston, TX (USA) and will be getting married in Manchester (UK). I think we'll fly back to Houston before starting our honeymoon.
I can imagine the vacation will start around 29th Dec 2008 for 3 weeks. My dilamema is not a bad one, there is just too many options!
Ideally we'd like a few days to a week relaxing on a (warm) beach followed by some exploring/adventure.
So far my thoughts have been Costa Rica, Belize, Pananma, Chilie, Equator, Brazil, Argentina...
Does anyone have any ideas for a 3 week trip?
Thanks in advance!
I recommend Ecuador. Three weeks would be a decent amount of time to explore Equador... There's so much variety!Between the Galapagos Islands, jungles, volcanos, and traditional Andean village life, you'd have tons of options. And you wouldn't have to worry about your dollar being weak there, as the currency used is the US dollar
Brazil would be great for a honeymoon. If you decide on Brazil, Rio would be my choice however, your date will conflict with what could be the largest New Years party in the world. If you like a huge party and millions of people then no problem. Also that time of year prices double.
I am big fan of Mexico, mainly the Yucatan peninsula, is amazing place in a small area you can find one of the most amazing Mayan Ruins as Chichen Itza, Uxmal, or Tulum, beautiful romantic colonial town a cities as Merida or Valladolid, underground lakes and rivers, caves where you can swim and dive, and the beaches are just the best!! white sand, with bright blue sea, and also the flight tickets from USA to for example Cancun are cheap. In Cancun you can find big all included hotels, disco clubs but also if you are looking for small calm beach there are places like Tulum or Punta Allen....
I got married in Tulum beach, two years ago, and it was just incredible...
