The oldest at 24? No, I'd say the average would be a year or two older. Most people are under 30.

I'm 26 and I'll be down there starting in april. There was no way I could've done it any earlier either. I had to do the college thing in order to make enough money to make the trip.

Hey! im 19 and im leaving on the 12th of March to OZ.... im pretty worried about being the youngest all the time, but i genereally consider myself to be pretty grown up, and i look alot older being a lanky and hairy! ha... but yeah, i paln to stay in a fair few YHA hostels (is i got the membership card) not sure i want to be partying 24/7 for 5 months!

i agree with some of the posts here. I only met a handful of 18-21 year olds, and when I did they were only away for a short period of time. I was 25 when I went away for 6 months and to be honest most people I had met were in the age range of 25-30ish as they had got to that age when they could appreciate it alot more

greetings! yeah as with what most have already said, the average age is likely between 20-30. I'm going as a 49 coming 50 and thoroughly looking forward to the opportunities to meet other like minded folks. My trip will take me between Sydney and Cairns...for the month of April. Good luck and have fun!
