I'm going to Valencia in two weeks time for a weekend.

Can anyone recommend nice places to see during the day & best places to eat and to go out at night.

i went there for 5 days with my sister and it was a bit too long really... we stayed at the purple nest hostel which was really nice, and they have nice sangria (home made) at the bar but its a bit expensive, we went and got ,75c for a litre stuff at the supermarket hehe.

its a really nice town to just walk around and discover things.. the aquarium in the arts and sciences museum is rpetty good, the biggest in europe! tho its kinda expensive... id give the museum a miss tho it was REALLY badly organised and lame.

What to see?
In the city:
You can´t miss the gothic quartier, known as Barrio del Carmen, forget the map there and enjoy every corner, and at night go back again and discover the other face of El Carmen.
The river Turia, or better said, the former river Turia, lots of gardens, sports fields and parks in the old way of the river to the sea.
The City of Arts and Science: Museums, Aquarium, Opera... Either you go into or you stay outside you will love it.
The bach and docks, nice place to have a walk where the last America´s Cup took place.
Around Valencia:
La Albufera (natural park), Sagunto (Former roman city)... Well you have said a weekend, haven´t you, then I better stop because if you are here you should learn to take it as easy as we do.

Going out?
Depends of the music you like: Indie, pop, house, techno... Small pubs, big discos, terraces on the beach...

Everywhere except in the city centre, both price and quality will satisfy you. In the towncentre will be as good as in any other place but twice as expensive.

As somebody said, the first of March start the Fallas, a fantastic festival, specially during the first days when the city is not yet full of tourists. Search info about it because explain would take me a long time.

And... welcome! I'll be here until the 1st of March, if you need anything else, just say it.
