Better to ignore people who talk like that rather than give them a forum to argue in.

Uhuh... Look at what you just did.

I didn't do it. I wasn't even in the room.

I can vouch for that, because I know for a fact that Tway does not approve or religious or political conversations.
How did u put it, Tway? Religion and Politics discussions do not belong in polite company?
Anyway, looks like this thread has been taken over by jackers so Mel is off to read a book about Communism or feminism or whatever else catches her eye.

T, have you been hiding information from us about yourself? We always suspected you were a subjective fundementalist.

Anyway, looks like this thread has been taken over by jackers so Mel is off to read a book about Communism or feminism or whatever else catches her eye.

Fundementalism, perhaps...

Spoken like a true person-who-lobs-a-bomb-into-a-crowd-and-runs-away.

Brainwashing is about planting the seed and sitting back to watch it grow. Perhaps you're a closet fundamentalist voyeur...?

Mel, you have a problem with Christianity and you are searching for evidence to back up pyour point of view. So there are some nut cases out there that are saying weird things. Big deal. Instead of listening to them, why don't you pick up a bible and read about the life of Jesus and learn about love, honesty and forgiveness.

Well, I consider myself religious. But I don't consider myself a fundamentalist and I certainly don't agree with the quotes from whoever that was. He/she probably would consider me a heathen ;) I'm not going to ram my views down someone's throat if they're not interested.

A fundamentalist to me is someone who cannot understand that anyone else could have a different view and will make every attempt to force their views on others. Personally, I disagree with many views that people hold (anti gay marriage, free trade, death penalty etc.. ), but I still can understand why people hold those views and respect their right to form their own views. I got into a big debate with someone on another site who was advocating the death penalty for the man who burned down the Namdaemun gate. I can understand where he is coming from, but boy do I think that is a hateful way of going about life!

That said, some views really should really not be accepted by society, like racism. Unfortunately, they still are. A reality of the times maybe.

Do consider this Mel.: if you are intolerant of others' views, then you really can't criticise them for being intolerant of your views. Even if you know you are right. Being able to see things from others' point of view is critical to a peaceful society.

I guess my Dutch blood shows ..

Mel: Fundamentalist believer in Human Rights Standards

I think I should put that in my profile.

James, I went to a Catholic school. I know what it says in the bible.
Where are the religious people who are not nut cases? The silent majority, I supppose.
