Hello, I will be traveling in Italy in late June this year and will be taking the train from Rome to Florence. I can buy tickets ahead of time online for about $100 round trip. Should I buy them ahead of time or wait until I am there? Will they be cheaper or more expensive? Will they be booked? Thanks.

It will be a lot cheaper to wait til you get there. I did the same thing and it was less than 20 euros with tickets bought on the day. There are trains at least every hour so it shouldnt be too hard to get a seat/ticket. Hope that helps.

Train tickets are generally cheap in Italy compared to the rest of Europe, granted I've used rail passes during my travels in Italy. As long as you give yourself enough time @ the station, you'll definitely get a seat on a train even in the middle of June. Better to just wait till you're in Rome to buy em'.
