Been reading up on Bolivia as heading there on Sunday from Salta. Reads well but not a massive amount of info on hostels in the town. In fact, only ONE of the sites I regularly use to book carries a hostel and it does't look great.

Valle de Hermosa sounds good but would like some more input if possible.

Lots of horse riding, trekking and cycling in the area. Much cheapness.

Someone must have been!!

Cheers,
Richard.

Hey Richard,

I stayed in Hotel Mitru. Although I stayed in some standard room, they have even cheaper ones as well. Don't know about dorms though. Room came with a decent breakfast as well, small buffet style, simple but enough.
I stayed there because I decided to go with Tupiza Tours for a 4 day trip, which was great by the way. It give the possibility of starting in Tupiza and ending in Uyuni (or Tupiza if you want to drive back with them). You can reserve a room at their website as well, just send them an email.

Haven't done any organised trips in or around Tupiza, but I did a walk myself to the dry river bed and canyon out of town. Really great as it narrows the further you walk and no one is there!

O, by the way, on their website is the current train schedule as well. I took the bus from Salta to the border and the train to Tupiza which was running that day. Otherwise, check it here.

Have fun, I liked that part of Bolivia very much.

Cheers!
Michael

Perfect Michael, I knew a regular would come up trumphs on this one.

Even better news with the 4 day trip. Hoped that would tie in as it's obviously on the agenda. Just finished my 5 day Spanish course here so I must update that forum with details later.

Leave Sunday midnight for the border so hoping when I check the timetable that a bus/train ties in to Topiza some time early Monday avo.

Will add more details to forum as and when I sort something.

Can't beat a good breakfast so I think I am sold.

Cheers again, much appreciated.
