FIJI - Mosquitoes

Hi,

I just wanted to know can i expect to be attacked my Mosquitoes in Fiji when i am out there in Aug/Sept time.

i.e. Do i need to purchase the Mosquitoe net, spray and consider Malaria tablets?

Yes, there will be mosquitoes in Fiji but they aren't too bad. I've just had a look online and there doesn't seem to be any risk for malaria in Fiji.
Most hostels and hotels will provide mosquito nets if you are sleeping in an open air area. You don't need to take a net unless you are planning on camping.
I would recommend getting a sunscreen with insect repellent in it so you can be protected against both.
Enjoy Fiji - the snorkelling is amazing!

2 out of the 3 backpacker resorts i stayed in ni the yasawa islands provided mosquito nets. I went in July and there were quite a few mosquitoes so definitely wear repellent after dark.
