Oh, how exciting!!!

I absolutely adore Macs. I plan on getting a new MacBook Pro here in a month or so and I can't wait to get it. And that line "Once you go Mac, you never go back" is so true. I refuse to buy a PC ever again!!!

Congrats on the baby!!!

My big problem now is how to better secure my 13" laptop in my 15" bag. The bag has a laptop pocket, but it shifts around a little bit. I was thinking of either getting a laptop pocket and velcoing it to the side of the pocket, or perhaps putting some foam in there to secure it.

Any thoughts?

Put a couple pairs of undies on either side....then no one will want to touch the new baby too!!!

I've got one of those 'sleeves' which offers pretty good protection regardless of the type of bag you're carrying it in.

I have joined the late 1990s, and have bought myself a computer. No more surfing from work or internet cafes for Greg. It's a MacBook and it's black and pretty. It's a little weird to get used to, but I'll manage.

Next, I plan on joining the 2000s and actually getting myself an internet connection at home. Pretty soon I'll be listening to MP3s and everything!

Greg

As a late bloomer, you can be forgiven for buying an Apple, don't believe the hype though. Although you have a beauty to look at, she won't have many friends and will only play in certain areas that are dictated by the parents. You can only get accessories from one shop (so your always going to look like everyone else who's got one). you'll always be thought of as an outsider as it's not a PC, yet unable to personalise.

Enjoy your baby, just be wary that she can pick up viruses (yes, they do have them), she won't play with all the favorites, and restricted on the ways for expansion.

No anti virus software for 5+ years now and still nothing to show. Compared to my last pc that was running everything (man, virus scans slow down computers!) and still got trashed, I know which I'd pick :) I also run both windows and osx on my mac, so definitely no probs in the expansion department. Fortunately software and web developers have realized that the mac owners still make up a healthy chunk of the market (20%+ in some circles, closer to 80% in student circles), so there's only one bank where I can't login anymore from the mac osx part of my computer. But seeing as windows runs faster on a mac than on a pc and I can run both simultaneously that's no big hassle anymore (although I do keep sending the bank emails about how crappy their developers must be LOL).

Or were you joking

Ha ha ha, well lucky you on the virus front, you must be taking vitamin C or Guinness to prevent it

An NO I won't get a Mac - mainly cos I don't like Apple software (iTunes in particular), I use freebe stuff, and besides a mac can't touch my baby vaio for size, battery life and design - awesome all wrapped up in carbon fibre too
