Shall be travelling to London In August. Arriving 0640 on a tues at Heathrow.... Then have to book a flight to Manchester... Any ideas on the likely time i shall be waiting to get through customs? Has anyone out there landed at about this time in the morning and had either any long waits or can suggest a time i should book my MAN flight for... understandably dont want to be standing round for hours and dont want to miss my flight either... Also any suggestions for cheap flights between the two? all i can find is 37GBP what about all these 1GBP flights i here about
Thanks in advance for reading and replying
PS Also is it a great distance between international and domestic airports at hethrow? If so what is the transport and time?

waiting times can be long at heathrow - i missed a connection up to manchester recently because of congestion between terminals- there are often long queues for the shuttle buses between the terminals. i would leave 2-3 hours especially if you have to check in again. There can also be long queues at customs/immigration but if you are connecting up to manchester you may not have to clear customs until you get there and Manchester is a much better airport
35gbp is an absolute bargain between london and manchester as the budget airlines do not service these routes - I doubt you will find one any cheaper. the 1p flights you hear about are normally with ryanair flying between dublin or liverpool to euorpean destinations.
if you really want to do it on the cheap, have a look on megabus.com for 1GBP bus tickets between london and manc.

And there are taxes and surcharges on top of these. If you want to carry a suitcase you have to pay about an extra 8 pounds or something!
