I want to move!!

Travel Forums General Talk I want to move!!

I am in nursing school right now and when I graduate I would like to move! I was looking at England and noticed the cost of living is very high. I would love to move to somewhere in Europe or Australia, but I do not want to be struggling for money. So I am trying to take into consideration the cost of living as well as how much nurses get paid in different places. It seems like the more I look the more confused I get about where the best place would be to move to! Any suggestions? I am open to any where not just Europe or Australia, but I would think it could be hard to work somewhere where they don't speak English, and I don't speak any other languages.

If you're looking to practise nursing where you're moving, the other English speaking places are NZ, Singapore and Canada. I don't think there such a thing as a 'best' place, really depends on what you're looking at, what your priorities and values are.

I guess my priorities would just be that I could live comfortable with the income of a RN. So therefore I would have to take cost of living versus the salary of a nurse. There are just so many different quotes about how much nurses make in certain countries. I don't want to live any where where I will have to sacrifice comfort because of the cost of living, if you know what I mean?

The best place to move to would be where you will be able to work legally. This means recognition of your degree abroad and getting a work permit.

My sister is in nursing too and while she is by EU regulations allowed to live and work in the UK without any permits she cannot work in the UK as a nurse bc they do not recognise her degree.
