Both Hien and I have asked that the thread stay on topic. Add something constructive to the discussion or refraining from posting. The last two entries were removed because they added nothing and were defamatory to Islam. Commenting to me about my opinion of Islam will not be consider constructive commentary either. Get back on track.

Quoting wotthefiqh

Quoting Mel.

I thought Islam was kinda silly when I was in Iran.
Is it really necessary to have no fun at all in the name of god?

Rock And Ruhollah Khomeini stated "Allah did not create man so that he could have fun".
I was in my twenties when I saw him interviewed in exile in France back in the late seventies (bet he never went to the Moulin Rouge ), and he was the most miserable bastard who ever walked on two legs.
He preached that `there are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam".

is there humor in any religion?
i agree that khomeini is a bastard. he did no good to Iran and took all freedom away for the Iranians (while it was much better at the time of shah), yet his picture is in every Iranian house and you can not critizise him.

Why is it kind of silly? If you say something you should give some argument. That would give a good start for a discussion, this is just a loose statement.;)

Pretty ripe coming from a member whose sole response to my dissertation on the bollocks of Western cultural guilt( post #53) is -

No point in discussing with folk who dont see what is wrong with Shairah law.
Some people think that is the way to live, otherwise they might as well lower their standards to the moral cesspit we live in over here.

The shariah law is indeed one of the dark sides of islam. But I don't think its really popular among muslims. If you mentioned shariah with that instead of islam in general then i would have understood. Just randomly saying that you find islam a bit silly is a bit vague.
