Yesterday there has been an anti-Islam march in The Hague ... the number of people that turned up: 25 !!! (there were more journalists than protesters.)

Only 25 people turned up which is obviously a good thing and says a lot about our tolerance and welcoming of other religions within Europe. If only the same thing could be said about these idiot "islamic" extremists. Check out this map of protests around the world over a cartoon!!!!

U have mentioned in ur thread that u have already covered many parts of Indonesia. anyway there is no point in discussing such things with a person with a prejudiced mind:)

At least you didn't call me a Zionist-Crusader.
I don't imagine my analogy in post #39 vis-a-vis Alcoholism and Islam would be printed in the Tehran Times, but I believe the central observation holds true.
A reasoned rebuttal would have been preferable to the throwaway slogans 'you know little about Islam' or 'prejudiced mind'.

prejudice - An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.

I has been studying Islam ever since Ayatollah Hamneggs declared war on the West by issuing a death fatwa on Salman Rushdie back in 1989, and the facts have gone decidedly downhill since then.

Arif_kool,
No intellectual repartee or are you just going to ignore the reality?
Sorry, forgot the true Aussie ideal.
PUT UP or SHUT UP

In my opinion Islam is not the real problem, it only serves as a justification (or vehicle).
The real underlaying problem is the unequal distribution of wealth, unequality of chances, and sheer discrimination. The so called West only thinks about it's own position in the world, and doesn't do anything to really help other countries. Countries that they in lot of cases stripped from their natural and human resources. (gold, diamonds, slavery)..

Got back from Bali seven hours ago and loaded for Bin Bear

Sounds like 'Battered Wife's Syndrome' (blaming yourself for the brutal behaviour of a disturbed nutter) taken to a cultural level.
If I ever get symptoms of cultural guilt (as if ), I'll drop into 'Madam Lash's House Of Pain' here in Perth. Someone told me it costs 200 AUD an hour for a good scourging (think Ashura Festival) then all you can eat at the salad bar (standup only)
Why the hell should I, or anyone in the democratic West, feel any guilt for the self-imposed illiteracy, economic
destitution, medieval culture and political bastardy (secular and theocractic) of the conservative moslem world.
The West destroyed slavery (e.g Wilberforce, Abe) as a societal institution long ago while modern-day Saudi clerics claim it to be sanctioned by the Koran and slavery is still practised in the most primitive of moslem countries.
The West has taken in millions of moslems fleeing God's perfection, we pour billions of US dollars and Euros into a
bottomless pit (Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc) and all we get back is resentment and hatred.
Hamas calls for the destruction of Israel, pumps rockets into it's civilian towns (Siderot) then has the f**king audacity to extend the begging bowl to the EU for millions of euros and screams 'RACISM' and 'ISLAMOPHOBIA' when refused.
I won't be saying to my grandson 'I shoveled shit in Western Australia' (refer General George S. Patton, Jr).

At least he has an opinion and doesn't live in some hippy-trippy world of lying to himself and trying to convince himself and those around him that he's cool with just about everything and everyone in the world regardless of their religion, thoughts, lifestyle choices, etc.

I'd be very careful with that type of comment... Whether in your 20s, 30s, 40s or 50s, I have a feeling that Anthony can back up his statements more quickly than most. This doesn't mean I agre with them, just means don't point fingers at age as it means relatively nothing in the big scheme of things.
