If you are looking into commerical flight, always look for return reservations, even if you do not take the return flight.
They are mostly cheaper than one-ways. (This working for all over the world.)

I second Vagamundo. I just looked at Lufthansa's website and it costs about 300 Euro for a oneway ticket and 100 Euro for a return ticket.

ok thanks for that advice too; but as i said we do need a one way flight coz we're not flying back to Cologne - we're using the train - cheers :)

You could buy the return ticket as it's cheaper than a oneway ticket and just not use the return portion of it!
