In september im flying to LA and staying staying along the west coast for 9 weeks! Im planning on seeing most of what california has to offer and maybe visit las vegas too. Im pretty open to what i do actually i just want to have fun.

Ive paid for my flights and i plan on taking 5,000 pounds with me which with current exchange rates is currently nearly 10,000 dollars! this is for accomodations in hostels eating and drinking and generally having a laugh. I have worked out that after accomodations i should have around 120 dollars a day to feed myself and get around etc

does this seem enough?

anyone got any advice for me?

Hi there,

That should be enough. It depends what you want to see and do, but you should be able to get by on $120 a day, but CA is pretty expensive. Where are you planning on making your stops?

Cheers,
Izzy

well i wanna see the obvious such as LA, san fran and san diego. Im a big san diego chargers fan so im going to try and catch a game. Id like to go to las vegas too. Other than that im easy. Yosemite death valley palm springs phoenix seattle...im easy!

I do intend on spending some time on the beach too just chilaxing so i figure thatll save money too although i can call apon more funds if worse comes to worse and i run out!

i think that is totally enough money for about 2 months on the west coast. the chargers are done playing this season, unfortunately.

It seems plenty enough, especially when you're staying in hostels and the $120/day is after you've paid for accommodation. Make sure to see the natural highlights of California too since you'll be spending so much time there - Big Sur, Yosemite etc etc :) And Las Vegas would make a good side trip, you can get there pretty cheaply too, although you may be able to splash out on a decent flight with your budget!!

yeah 10 grand will definitely last a lot longer than two months. or it's just enough to guarantee an incredible two months. but I still suggest staying at cheap places and going to expensive bars to chat up wealthy women with your exciting stories from the road.

This is probably going to seem crazy to you--but the San Diego Chargers are actually scheduled to play in Wembley stadium in London (against the New Orleans Saints) in October this year (on October 26th). It's only the 2nd time there has ever been a regular season NFL game played outside the US (the first was in 2005 in Mexico City where the attendance was 103,000). Obviously, this will therefore be the first regular season game played outside of North America. You might want to get your tickets and plan your trip to the US so that you can be in London in late October.

without sounding mean and i appreciate your trying to help but the NFL does have a solid fan base in the UK and im more than aware of the game that was played at wembley last october and only too aware of the game between us and the saints this october at wembley. I know alot more about the NFL and the chargers than you think as do alot of brits, check out the community on NFLUK.COM. But i dont want to see the chargers at wembley i wanna see them at the Q with a full house of charger fans not 90,000 fans of all 32 teams.
