Hi,

I recently applied for a working holiday maker visa to the UK from the Dubai VFS UK office in Burjuman center. I was granted the visa in a matter of 4 days.

Am sure you've done enough research to know that your wife must also be eligible for a working holiday makers' visa and your kid must not be older than 5 years of age.

Well, as far as I see it, there wont be any problem in getting your visa as long as you show enough funds to support yourself for 2 months, say 4000-5000 GBP for 2 months. This is just a hypothetical figure I am giving you. It is better to get in touch with the UK Embassy Abu Dhabi to get a better idea of the monies required. In my case 1000 GBP was enough as I mentioned in my application that I had a friend there who would take care of my food and accomodation. In my application I gave my friends address with Pincode. If you too have someone, make sure you mention the contact name and address and, if possible, the person's phone number.

Of course, in this visa, you will have no recourse to public funds like unemployment insurance etc. So they key thing is that, in your application you must be able to convince the UK Foreign and Commenwealth office that you have enough funds to support yourself and your family.

Cheers & Best of luck in your application

Be careful that you don't overstay, what ever you do - there are penalty charges involved!
